Membership in New Horizons International Music Association adds you to the growing family of an international organization committed to the New Horizons philosophy of music-making. As a non-profit organization, NHIMA will be seeking grants and funding for both the organization in general and for special events such as camps and institutes, which will help to make these events more affordable for you. A significant member base will be more influential as NHIMA attempts to negotiate favorable agreements for member organizations in areas such as general liability insurance and directors and officers insurance for those New Horizons groups with a Board of Directors.
Membership in NHIMA is offered to New Horizons organizations and to individuals/couples. For individuals and couples, the benefits include receiving a newsletter semi-annually; a membership directory and your own listing in that directory; discounts on some New Horizons events and publications; and early notification of music camps, institutes and other special events (you get a jump on the general public for registering for some events that "sell out" very quickly).
New Horizons groups that are members receive additional benefits, including information that will be helpful to the organization on such topics as increasing enrollment, developing small groups, incorporation, insurance, and fundraising. Assistance in starting new groups and helping groups develop new ideas is also included.
