Liability and Property Insurance

To meet your group's insurance requirements, check out [The Nonprofits Insurance Alliance Group]. They serve more than 3,000 nonprofit organizations in 24 states and the District of Columbia. The company itself is a 501 (c)(3) tax-exempt nonprofit insurance company, with a mission of providing a stable source of reasonably priced liability insurance for the specialized needs of nonprofits, and to assist those organizations in the development and implementation of effective loss control and risk management programs.

Software and Hardware

A San Francisco based nonprofit company, [TechSoup], acts as a clearing house for distributing donated technical products to nonprofit organizations. Companies donate copies of software, and even some hardware, to TechSoup for free or deeply discounted. TechSoup then distributes them to nonprofit groups for a minimal handling fee. Participating companies include Microsoft, Adobe, Intuit, Symantec, and others. As an example, one New Horizons organization obtained Intuit's QuickBooks for Nonprofits for $45 to keep track of their band's financial information. Registration with TechSoup is free--a win-win!
